The Sailmaker’s House caters to the modern and self-sufficient traveler. We encourage you let yourself in and make yourself at home.

DEPOSIT

We collect a one night deposit to hold the guest room and the remaining balance will be charged 72 hours prior to arrival.

Cancellation policy

Regardless of circumstances, reservations must be canceled or modified 3 days prior to arrival (latest 4pm hotel time) to avoid forfeit of the total cost of the stay.  If reservations need to be modified within the 72 hours, regardless of reason, it will be subject to a $50 fee and based on availability. Two night minimum restriction enforced if needed. Refunds are not given for early departures or shortening a stay. 

Adults preferred!

We require that all guests be at least 21 years of age to book a reservation at The Sailmaker’s House. The Sailmaker’s House may not be suitable for children under 12 years of age in terms of safety (think sharp corners and fine art!) or serenity (think “quiet reprieve”) Please contact us if you have specific questions!

arrive early? leave late?

Early check in cannot be guaranteed. If you do plan to arrive early, please let us know as soon as possible so that we can do our best to accommodate. If you need to arrive earlier than 1pm, please consider booking the night prior — contact us for details.

Late check out requests are subject to availability and cannot be guaranteed. If available, late check outs will incur an additional fee. Please contact us to arrange.

No smoking

Smoking and vaping of any kind is strictly prohibited inside guest rooms and common areas both by The Sailmaker's House and the State of New Hampshire Law. Smoking or vaping in guest rooms will trigger the fire alarms throughout the property. If evidence of smoking in guest rooms or designated non-smoking areas is detected, a $300 fee will be added to your bill.

Quiet, please!

Due to the age and historical nature of our building, sound can travel. We ask that all guests are quiet and mindful that they are sharing the house with others between the hours of 9pm and 8am.

Pets

Pets are not permitted on property. If a pet is in your possession and/or in your room without the consent from a member of our staff, there is a $250 mandatory cleaning fee and the pet must be removed from the property.

We are happy to accept your Service Dog. Please let us know that your Service Dog will be joining you during your check in process.

Please note that Emotional Support Animals are NOT considered Service Animals and will NOT be accepted.

Taxes & fees

NH Rooms & Meals Tax at a rate of 8.5% which will be calculated and clearly noted during the booking process.
